Privacy Policy - Project Countdown

🔒 The Short Version

Project Countdown is designed with privacy at its core. We do not sell your data, we do not track you across apps, and we keep your personal information to the absolute minimum required to make the app work.

📦 What Data We Collect

Project Countdown collects only the minimum information necessary:

Countdown data — titles, dates, and settings you create are stored locally on your device and optionally synced via your personal iCloud account.
App preferences — appearance settings, notification preferences, and theme selections stored locally via UserDefaults.
Crash reports — anonymous crash logs provided by Apple's standard crash reporting infrastructure, which you can disable in iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics.
Ad identifiers — if you are shown ads (free tier), Google AdMob may collect an advertising identifier to show relevant ads. See Google's privacy policy for details.

🚫 What We Don't Collect

Your name, email address, or any account credentials
Location data
Contact list, camera, or microphone access
Browsing history or cross-app tracking data
Any data from your other apps or devices

☁️ iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your countdown data is synced across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit framework. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We never have access to your iCloud data.

📢 Advertising

The free version of Project Countdown displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to serve personalised ads. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time via:

iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → toggle off Personalised Ads
iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable tracking for Project Countdown

Upgrading to Project Countdown Premium removes all ads entirely.

🔔 Notifications

Notifications are 100% local — they are scheduled on your device and never routed through our servers. We never see when you receive a notification or whether you interact with it. You can manage all notification permissions in iOS Settings at any time.

✏️ Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date below and, for significant changes, notify you via a notice in the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
