Privacy Policy

🔒 The Short Version

Puhu is a 100% on-device voice-to-text app. Your voice recordings and transcripts never leave your device. There are no servers, no cloud storage, and no accounts. We do not sell your data and we do not track you.

🎙️ How Your Voice Is Processed

All speech recognition and text formatting happens locally on your device. When you record, Puhu transcribes and formats the audio on-device and stores the resulting text locally. Audio is not transmitted to Pera or any third party.

📦 What Data We Collect

Puhu collects only the minimum needed to function:

• Transcripts & history — the text you create is stored locally on your device so you can access and edit it.
• App preferences — settings such as language, output format, and appearance, stored locally on your device.
• Crash reports — optional anonymous crash logs via Apple's standard crash reporting, which you can disable in iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics.

Because Puhu processes everything on your device, we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.

🚫 What We Don't Collect

• Your voice recordings (they are processed on-device and not retained by us)
• Your name, email address, or any account credentials
• Location data
• Contact list or cross-app tracking data

⌨️ Keyboard Extension

Puhu's keyboard extension processes your speech on-device to insert clean text into other apps. The keyboard does not use "Full Access" to transmit your keystrokes or dictation to any server. Text you dictate stays between your device and the app you are typing into.

✏️ Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date below and, for significant changes, notify you via a notice in the app.
